How to Write Your Own Insurance Web Pages

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Creating your own separate websites to sell the 2u Insurance is a good idea that is a proven formula for increasing the amount of money you make.

But exactly how should you do it, and what are the rules?

This is what we will look at here.

  1. DO NOT copy from any other site - DO NOT copy from 2u.co.uk

  2. DO follow the FSA Guidelines below

  3. DO include the FSA compliance iframe code on every page on your site.

  4. DO NOT copy the Terms and Conditions into your site.  Live-link to the Terms on 2u.co.uk.  Details below.

DO NOT copy from any other site - DO NOT copy from 2u.co.uk

You probably already know that you should NOT copy wording and content from 2u.co.uk.  You are encouraged and advised to build your own separate web site that promotes the 2u products, because then you control that site completely, and you wil have unique content that the search engines will love and rank higher.

How to Write Your Own Web Pages on Insurance

So you should write your own web pages about the 2u insurance.  But what are the rules and guidelines on what you can and cannot say?

You need to follow these guidelines for writing your own web page information about the insurance, in order to legally stay FSA compliant:

DO follow the FSA Guidelines.

FSA Guidelines:

  1. Your wording must be clear, fair and not misleading
  2. If you say something positive about the product you must be able to qualify what you are saying with facts. For example if you said “We are the cheapest” then you will have to compare prices against the competition.
  3. If comparing with other products or services the comparisons must be accurate.
  4. If using testimonials make sure you have all the evidence (date, name and customer)
  5. If using newspaper articles they must indicate the date the article was published and the newspaper name.
  6. Do not use small type in Terms and Conditions
  7. Do not discredit competition

So follow these guidelines and write your own content.  Then you have your own unique site that the search engines will love and rank.

DO include the FSA compliance iframe code on every page on your site.

FSA Compliance iframe:
Make sure you put the FSA iframe on all of your pages which promote the 2u insurance.  Get this FSA iframe when you login here then put it onto the bottom of every page on your site.

Non-branded order pages:
Rather than your customer going from the look and feel of your site, then through to the different look and feel of the 2u site and order pages, we have created a set of non-branded order pages for you.  Once you have gone through the FSA iframe process, you will then be given access to the non-branded URL web addresses, which you can put into your website.  You get the correct URLs to use after you have put the FSA Complinace code into your site.

This means the customer then has a seamless experience, going from your site through to the order pages, without seeing the (different looking) 2u logo and branding.

DO NOT copy the Terms and Conditions into your site.  Live-link to the Terms on 2u.co.uk

Anyone found with copied Terms will have their affiliate account SUSPENDED immediately because the Terms will be out of date, which means a customer could purchase under the wrong, old Terms.

You MUST live-link to the Terms on 2u.co.uk.

There are a number of ways you can do this.  Choose whichever best suits you and your site.

You can iframe include the Terms, you can open a new window with the Terms in, or you can use the RSS feed for the Terms.  You can change the font but you must NOT change any wording.

URLs:

Link to
http://www.2u.co.uk/mobile-phone-insurance/insurance_terms_and_conditions.php

or use the include file at
http://www.2u.co.uk/mobile-phone-insurance/insurance_terms_include.php

or the RSS feed at
http://www.2u.co.uk/terms_rss.php

Again, we cannot allow affiliates to copy the Terms into their site.  We will suspend accounts found with copied Terms.  This means that the customer cannot then purchase.

When you do all this, you have a good-looking website that the search engines and your customers will love.

How to get free targeted traffic to your blog

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

This is brand new and hence has only very limited stats to show for itself, but if you have your own blog, this is a new method to get targeted (or at least semi-targeted) traffic to your site.

Down the left side of this blog you will see a dark block area saying “From the Blogoshpere …”

This is Blog Rush, a free marketing tool to get traffic to your blog.

It works like an advert swap; you have links to other sites, and other sites have links to you.

As I said, it is new and hence unproven, but it makes sense, its free and it is worth a try, to get free targeted traffic to your blog.

DO NOT COPY ANY CONTENT

Monday, September 17th, 2007

I have an important announcement for you

Previously we have allowed affiliates to copy content that is owned and copyrighted to 2u.  However, because of recent changes in Google’s calculations, sites that have very similar or identical words get penalised ie not ranked or ranked much lower in the search results.

So we cannot allow the 2u content (words) to be copied - its not good for you, and its not good for us.   To be honest you are much better off with your own unique content, so it is in your own interest to create your own words.

 So …

1. DO NOT COPY ANYTHING FROM www.2u.co.uk

2. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY COPIED from 2u.co.uk then you need to create your own words.  Put it in your own unique words.

Our legal team have advised that we give everyone 2 months to fully remove all copied content from their sites.  After 2 months (ie after 17th October 2007) we will be checking up on sites that are found to have copied from 2u, and making sure they remove all copied content.

Remember, it is not in your interest to have copied (duplicate) content and it is not in our interest to have our content copied.

We want to help you to sell, and that means having your own unique websites.

NOTE:  Your own affiliate .2u.co.uk website is OK - Becase we control the content of thhe .2u.co.uk sites you do not nee to worry about this.

If you are using the phones datafeed then you DO NOT HAVE TO change the content (mostly the phones descriptions) but I would encourage and advise you to, for your own site’s quality.

If you have an INSTANT AutoPilot site (www.instantautopilot.com), again, you do not have to change the content (mostly the phones description - FYI the IAP sites use a different set of phones descriptions to the ones on 2u.co.uk which is why it is less important that you change the content), but I would encourage and advise you to, so your site is unique and different to others - you benefit from this.

If you want to get someone else to re-write your phones descriptions, I would recommend searching for a provider (at much lower cost) at www.elance.com

If you want to do it yourself, simply start small and do a few each day.

As a rule of thumb, make sure that no 5 consecutive words are identical.  Reword it, change the words around AND use different words - insert other words, remove some words. Again, make sure that no 5 words in a row are the same as anything copied from 2u.co.ukor any other site.

If you have any questions, then contact me by replying to any newsletter you receive.

So please do not copy in future and please remove all wording you have copied from 2u.co.uk

I hope you can see why this is necessary and in everyone’s interest.

Thank you.
