Why should I promote the 2U phones?
Simply because they earn very well. We always try to make sure we are paying more than other providers on the market so you can promote safe in the knowledge that YOU are getting the BEST DEAL. For commission rates go to http://www.2uaffiliates.com/training-centre/Commission_Structure
Under what conditions might my phone sales be cancelled, or not complete to be paid the commission?"
Your current new orders go through a stage called ‘processing’ and just so you know we have listed the processing stage below:
Processing
An order is made through your website.
- The order is network credit checked
- If the customer passes then the phone is delivered.
- The customer fails the network credit check (including credit/debit card check - card is invalid and at incorrect address) = Cancellation
- The credit check comes back as needing a security deposit (for safety if the customer's credit rating is not terrible but is not quite good enough for an outright pass). This is usually £150 which is held by the network for 3 to 9 months. The customer can refuse to pay this = Cancellatioon.
- The customer may not be happy with the phone and returns it within 14 days = Cancellation
- The customer does not pay their bill = Cancellation
- The customer is found to be fraudulent = Cancellation
- The delivery cannot be made or is not received by the customer = Delays or ultimately cancellation.
- The customer returns the phone for a different model which commands a different commission = Delays
Completion of Processing
Once the processing stage is complete the order becomes a ‘Completed Sale’ like any other sale on the website and is paid in the second month after the completion of the sale with all the Terms and Conditions of a sale. Please note that even at this stage the sale can still be cancelled for some of the above conditions. . (A March sale is paid in May and April sale is paid in June for further explanations read the Commission Payments page)
What percentage of orders normally pass the credit check?
This will totally depend on the quality of the quality of the customers. Customers must be credit-worthy to pass the network credit check. If you bring in low credit status customers, then you will find that most will fail the network credit check.
Some affiliates have experienced as low as 11% pass-rate because their customers were low credit status.
Others have experienced as high as 73% pass-rate because their customers were high credit status. In this event, the customers were upgrade customers, ie a cusotmer that already has had a contract phone for 12 monhts or more and therefore have proved they are responsible to pay their bills. They can then get an 'upgrade' to a new phone on a new network.
For this reason we stongly advise that you try to target high credit status customers. So, you need to think about where you might locate high credit status customers ...
Where might I find high credit status customers?
Ideally, you want to find upgrade customers that already own a contract phone. This means optimising your own website for search engine searches such as "mobile phone upgrade", "mobile upgrades" etc. You already have an "upgrade" optimised page at http://www.2u.co.uk/mobile-phone-upgrade-upgrades/. NOTE customers would be getting a new contract on a new network rather than upgrading on the same network, because this way the customer gets a better deal from the network.
You might also want to target fresh high credit-scoring customers that do not necessarily already have a contract phone. What group of people is likely to have a high credit score?
- Professionals, such as Doctors, lawyers, architects etc
- Home owners - people with mortgages
- Credit card holders and users
How might you be able to target these people online?
- Build mini-sites optimised for such search terms, or
- Use Pay Per Click (PPC)carefully to get seaches related to each group of people above
How might you achieve either of these?
- Target the specific group by building a mini-site for each. First define which group you want to target (eg Doctors). Then follow the advice in the Affiliate Training Centre on how to build your own site.
- How could you achieve an effective PPC campaign for this? Define a PPC campaign for (eg) "doctor" search etc AND make sure you tightly clarify your offer in your headline of the advert eg "DRs UK Contract Mobile Phones FREE". You want to make sure that irrelevant people DO NOT click the link, because that costs you money. So you put words in the advert headline that would discourage irrelevant people eg "Drs", "UK" and "contract". Apply the same rules to the other groups of higher credit-status people.
How long does it take to process a phone order?
Usuallay, 90% of orders are processed the same day.
However, if a customer has not completed all the necessary details then there can be a delay. A delay can occur for the following reasons
1. They have not completed all the details
2. They put incorrect details
3. They need to pay a security deposit (and they fail to call us back)
4. They are not available when we try to call them back
Usually this takes no more than 2 weeks, but we can leave an order 'open' in certain circumstances, if it is possible that the order might complete.
Why do 2U not sell Pay As You Go mobile phones?
The profit margins for affiliates is far too small. Pay As You Go phones also pose a far greater risk from fraud, because pay-monthly phones must pass a credit check. With profit margins as low as £10 on a some phones, for a phone-cost (ie risk) of up to £500, should even one phone get purchased using a stolen credit card, that is a loss of £500 that must be made back. In order to return this loss, we would have to sell up to 50 phones, just to recoup the loss of one. That is why 2U does not sell Pay As You Go phones.
Why do 2U not sell wholesale in bulk to trade, or to outside of the UK?"
Mobile Phone World used to sell wholesale in bulk to trade, but it is a very risky business, especially due to the higher fraud risk - £1,000's can be (and have been) lost in one day! Similarly, we do not export phones outside of the UK, whether in 1's or in bulk wholesale, because it is time-consuming and very risky. It is also not something that can be automated as the rest of the 2U system is. Because of this, 2U do not sell phones in bulk. We only sell pay-monthly contract connection phones, and for security, only allow any 1 customer to have 2 phones in any 3 month period.
