"How to Start with 2U - Build Your Own Profit-Generating Website"

Here you will learn how to ...
  • Start building your own non-2U 'feeder' site for each 2U product type - eg mobile phones, mobile phone insurance etc. This will be a separate site that brings customers in, then passes them on to your 2U site.
This may seem a little daunting at first, but stick with it - it WILL PAY OFF ... GUARANTEED.

As you read through this page and the next, there are 2 goals you should have in mind. We recomend you set yourself the following targets ...
  1. In the next (first) week, learn the basics of HTML. You will find how here or here (it is not as hard as it seems at first). Practice 'dabbling'.

  2. In the second week, learn the basics of Search Engine Optimisation (basics - just read through the 2U search engine optimisation tutorials and try to understand as much as possible).

First, you need
  1. A domain which is a website address, which points to a 'web host' computer where the site is, and
  2. Web hosting, which is the space where your site sits. This is an area on a computer that can be accessed from outside to view your website.
There are many companies that offer domain and hosting. We have tested many and ones which we know to be good are listed here

How to choose your domain
What is the best domain for your business? There are 2 main elements to consider ...
  1. Make it short and snappy for customers to type in
  2. Make it good for Search Engine Optimisation
The 2 elements can sometimes conflict, so give a lot of thought to this. It will be decided by how you are going to market and promote your site.

UPDATE: Domains with hyphens in are no longer advised. If possible, avoid getting a domain name with hyphens (minus - sign) in it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Avoid domains with brand names or trademarks in. This could get you into legal issues with the trademark or brand holder. For example, you should definitely NOT get www.carphonewarehousemobiles.com.
