So you want to get started earning from promoting the 2U mobile phones? OK, let's look at the options ...
- Static 2U affiliate site
- Phones Quick Customiser
- Separate website controlled by you, with hand coded HTML and iFrame of price plans
- Separate website with database feed automatically updating all products and offers every day
NOTE: Phone orders must all go through a credit check before they are dispatched to the customer and confirmed as a commissionable sale that you earn on. The conversion rate from order to connected sale varies but 50% is OK.
1. Static 2U affiliate site - Instant, quick and easy
This is ready for you as soon as you are signed up as a 2U affiliate. Currently, you cannot customise this page. Many affiliates successfully use this and earn well each month. It is a quick easy answer to getting online and selling mobile phones as an affiliate.
Good points: Quick and easy to get running. The site all updates itself - no management needed from you
Downsides: You cannot customise or personalise this, either for look and feel design, or for search engine optimisation.
2. Phones Quick Customiser
This allows you to customise and personalise the site to your colour design, change the search engine optimisation settings, and use your own images. Like the 2U.co.uk system it is a separate domain name that is prefixed with your own unique subdomain name and that is where you send your traffic.
Good points: Quick easy, customisable for look and feel and Search engine optimisation. Very effective selling solution. The site all updates itself - no management needed from you
Downsides: Fixed layout - you cannot change the actual layout of the site. Otherwise excellent.
NOTE: This is not yet launched ... It is tantalisingly close to being launched, but just has a few checks to go through first. You will be notified through the 2U Newsletter by email.
3. Separate website controlled by you, with hand coded HTML and iFrame of price plans
This is on your own website web address eg www.mydomain.com. You have your own separate hosting for this site. You control exactly what goes on this site. You must write the code for this. You must keep the phone handset details updated. 2U provide you with a list of new handsets and discontinued handsets at www.2uaffiliates.com/training-centre/phone-changes.
You can use the iframe code snippet to include the price plan details for that phone handset on your site (the price plan offers change more regularly than the phone handsets). You will find this iframe here
In the price plan iframe all price plan details are outlined, and a "BUY" button is displayed. If a customer clicks this, then it opens up the non-branded 2U order form for your customers so they never see the 2U branding. 2U provide a page where you can see all the new additional to the phone range, and all the discontinued phone (that you would therefore need to remove from your site).

Good points: You have full editorial control. You keep your own branding look and feel through-out - no 2U branding on the order form.
Downsides: You have to keep updating the phone details, and manually build your own site.
4. Separate website with database feed automatically updating all products and offers every day
Although complex to set up, the beauty of this system is that it is completely handsfree to run. Your site gets updated 4 times per day from our database feed. You have a script that runs 4 times a day that takes a copy of our database, and copies that database to your server. Your website then runs from that local copy of the database, so you site is always automatically updated.
For the set up of this, you have 3 options:
- Do it yourself if you have databasing and programming skills. Get the phones datafeed in your login area here, or
- Get someone else to do it for you. There are 2 ways to do this ...
- A decent UK programmer will charge about £40 per hour or a total for building such a site of about £5,000 to £10,000.
- You can take advantage of global expert developers.
